Bad Weather Could Scuttle Shuttle Launch Thursday  Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Atlantis stands ready for flight on launch pad 39-B following RSS retraction. Photo Credit: NASA/Kim Shiflett KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL - Even before Atlantis roars into the heavens tomorrow, all eyes will be glued to the sky. A cold weather front will move through Central Florida tomorrow morning, bringing with it the threat of rainshowers and possible lightning. Weather forecasters with the 45th Weather Squadron at Patrick AFB are giving only a 30% probability that conditions will co-operate tomorrow and allow Atlantis to lift off on the long-awaited mission to deliver the European Space Agency's Columbus research module to the International Space Station.
