Distance is the total distance travelled by the spacecraft in vacuum with no gravity. After a hundred seconds a typical rocket will have travelled about sixty kilometers ( sixty thousand meters ). The thrust of the spacecraft is assumed to be constant and so the acceleration increases towards the end of the trajectory. Distance is proportional to the final velocity reached by the spacecraft.
