The recalculate on change checkbox determines whether the results should be recalculated whenever any value is changed. This is convenient if you just want to change one parameter at a time; but, inconvenient if you want to change many parameters before recalculating. If this checkbox is off, to recalculate you must click the 'Calculate Final Velocity' button.
