SATURN V (SKYLAB)

The Skylab Saturn V was a two-stage version of the Apollo Saturn V adapted for the specific purpose of carrying the Skylab space station into low-Earth orbit. Both the S-IC first stage and S-II second stage were improved to support the Skylab launch.

The five Rocketdyne F-1 first stage engines were uprated to produce a total thrust of 7,723,726 pounds at liftoff. The five Rocketdyne J-2 second stage engines were uprated to produce a total thrust of 1,125,000 pounds.
